Below is the current list of classes taught by Troupe Duende members in the Kansas City area. Check out our calendar of classes here. Beginning Bellydance/Level I
This class will introduce basic bellydance movements with lots of variations and attention to detail. You’ll learn a bit of bellydance history, rhythms and instrumentation, as well as the sharp hips and languid undulations characteristic of bellydance. This class includes an introduction to group improvisational format bellydance. Lots of fun, laughs, and hard work are the methods we’ll use in class. Intermediate Bellydance/Level II
In Bellydance Level II we’ll focus on building technique including sharp isolations, quick patterns, and layers. We’ll also build our group improvisational format vocabulary with combinations and formations. With an occasional focus on choreography, props, musicality and creative dance work, this class provides a well-rounded intermediate bellydance background. Performance opportunities are offered periodically throughout the year. Check out this list of what you’ll learn in Level II.
Advanced Bellydance/Level III
In this class we’ll focus on layers, combinations, and craziness in many styles of bellydance fusion! Performance work, intriguing kinds of fusion and movement, pursuit of fun and friendship, and cheese squares all are included in this class. Bellydance Fusion Skills and Drills
This class is great for beginner and intermediate dancers. We’ll cover basic bellydance moves along with combinations, layers, traveling steps, basic group improvisation style including combinations based in many styles of bellydance. Learn bellydance while getting a workout, and sharpen your technique and body awareness.
This class is focused on using bellydance movements to get a full body workout. Great for absolutely beginners or any level dancer who wants to build strength and poise while working up a sweat!
